We are overjoyed that our Edinburgh Bruntsfield store has been voted the Best Bike Shop in Britain by more than 21,000 people from all over the UK, who cast their vote in Cycling Weekly’s annual poll.
THE PEOPLE’S FAVOURITE
From the lovely Cycling Weekly article about the winning result: “You get the impression speaking to the members of the Cooperative that their personal ownership in the business itself plays a role in the ambition to improve the shop. [Deputy Manager Simon Cortis] also believes the staff’s passion for cycling is one of the main reasons that they provide excellent customer service.
“Most of the people who work here do everything by bike, and they are all passionate about bikes,” he says. “At the end of the day it is not just about pay cheques but actually enjoying what you do.”
BEST IN YORKSHIRE AND THE NORTH EAST TOO
Almost as impressive, our three shops outside Edinburgh were also poll winners. Our Newcastle branch was voted the best in North East England, our Leeds branch the best in Yorkshire, and our Aberdeen branch (like our Bruntsfield shop) was voted one of the Top 5 Bike Shops in Scotland.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to every customer who took the trouble to vote for us. It means so much to us that you chose to support a comparatively small chain of employee-owned bicycle shops. You have made us feel, simultaneously, humbled and very proud. Thank you.
One promise. We will do all we can to continue to live up to the amazing honour of being voted Best Bike Shop in Britain.
