Les has been our Aberdeen store manager since the shop became part of the Bike Co-op in 2002. Having worked at the shop for its former owner (Cycling World) over the previous 19 years, Les is the living embodiment of the expression – a safe pair of hands.

When Les started working in the shop in 1983, he was the Scottish Junior 25 mile record (56.49) holder.

That same year, Les took his first cycling trip to Mallorca – long before it was considered a cool cycling mecca. Les loved it so much, he has returned to the Balearics every year since.

Closer to home, Les’s knowledge of the best whisky distillery routes in his Speyside/Deeside backyard is encyclopaedic.

We trust that the wealth of experience individuals such as Les bring to the Bike Co-op is one of the reasons you can expect sound advice whenever you shop with us.

Aberdeen Location

Aberdeen

As part of a radical refurbishment (completed December 2014) to improve the whole layout of the bike shop in Aberdeen, we created a brand new workshop. With twice as many workstations as our previous workshop, we are confident that this is the largest cycle repair service centre in northeast Scotland.

Before the Aberdeen cycle shop became a branch of the Bike Co-op in 2002, our George Street bike shop was called Cycling World. Les Simpson – a talented, local road cyclist – was the shop manager. Les (who started working at Cycling World in 1983) continues to work in the shop under the Bike Co-op banner to this day.
